HOBART FOR CHILDREN

Hobart is a delightful city for children. It is a small safe city with accessible beaches and fascinating historical sites.

Our Education Consultant's top 5 days out in Hobart:

The Fun Factory in Rosney on the Eastern Shore is an indoor children's paradise, with a comfortable coffee shop for mums and dads.

Cat and Fiddle Arcade is a must-see in Hobart. This sheltered area off the Elizabeth Street Mall has an animated clock, which acts out the Cat and the Fiddle nursery rhyme on the hour.

The Tasmanian Transport Museum, open weekends, features old trams and trains now retired from serving Hobart's public transport needs.

Cadbury Schweppes chocolate factory located in Claremont has tours (and samples!) available, booking is essential.

Alpenrail, also at Claremont, is the largest and most realistic model train setup in Australia. There are models of favourites such as Thomas the Tank Engine which children can control themselves.

WHAT THE LOCALS SAY

"Hobart was a great city to grow up in, plenty to do and loads of adventure - I'm happy that I can bring my kids up here too...it seems safer than the big mainland cities."
