ADELAIDE TRANSPORT

Public transport in Adelaide operates through an integrated system of trains and buses, and a single tramline connecting the city centre to the beachside suburb of Glenelg.

City Loop and Bee Line buses provide free buses through the centre of the city, connecting many popular sites and main public transport hubs.

Metrotickets can be used on all public transport and there are a variety of ticket options offering regular commuters and city visitors with attractive savings.

Wandering Star bus service provides late night (12.30am to 5.00am) services to most suburbs and, within "Star Zones", they will take you directly to your door where street conditions allow.

Regional areas can be readily accessed by private bus and coach services and state subsidised public transport services operate in most major centres.

Taxis can be hailed from the street, or engaged at ranks in and around the city. Tipping is not customary.

WHAT THE LOCALS SAY
"For a small city, Adelaide has excellent public transport. Well, on weekdays at least. Sundays can be a bit slow and thankfully there's the Wandering Star service!"
