INTERNET
There are a variety of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Australia offering a range of different plans and download speeds.
ISPs charge according to connection type. Dial-up accounts are generally charged on a time-basis, and permanent broadband connections such as ADSL are charged depending on upload and download speeds. Both types of connections can incur additional charges for excess data usage.
Internet plans generally include email services and providers may also offer web hosting space on their server.
Internet services are provided through the telephone network, cable or satellite, depending on your location, service requirements and provider.
Telstra and Optus, the two telephone service providers, also provide internet as well as pay TV services and offer deals when you purchase more than one service from them.
