CHANGE OF ADDRESS

When you relocate, it is important to notify people of your new address.

Remember to change your enrolment address with the Australian Electoral Commission. If you don't, you could be removed from the electoral roll and miss out on your vote in upcoming elections.
You can change your address online at www.aec.gov.au/moving. Enrolment forms are also available at any AEC office or Australia Post outlet.
It's compulsory for all eligible Australians to be enrolled to vote and keep their details up to date.
For more information go to www.aec.gov.au or call 13 23 26.

It is also important to keep your Medicare address up-to-date to avoid delays in processing claims for Medicare benefits. You can notify Medicare by:

  • calling 132 011
  • attending a Medicare Office (a form is not required)
  • posting the address change to Medicare, GPO Box 9822 in your capital city (a form is not required)
  • using Medicare Australia's online services.

Australia Post offers a mail redirection service. An Application to Redirect Mail can be downloaded from their website. You will need to take the application to an Australia Post outlet, along with sufficient proof of identity, and pay in person.
