LIVING IN CANBERRA

While you may be relocating to Australia's largest inland city, Canberra is still close to the beautiful beaches of the south coast of NSW as well as the ski fields of the Snowy Mountains and the wine regions of Hall, Lake George and Murrumbateman.

With a large international community, Canberra has a diverse range of restaurants featuring cuisine from all over the world, from reasonably priced cafes to extravagant five-star venues. Al fresco dining is especially popular in the warmer months.

For a taste of nightlife, locals head for the inner south suburbs of Manuka and Kingston. North of the lake, Civic Square is vibrant in the evenings, particularly in summer when the traffic-free space is full of people.

One of the great attractions is the natural landscape that surrounds Canberra and you can see the bush and farmland from most parts of the city. It is entirely possible to live a rural lifestyle on a farm or in the Australian bush within a short commute to the city centre.

For those living closer in, Lake Burley Griffin provides a large peaceful space of nature in the centre of Canberra. It is an ideal place for cycling, jogging or a pleasant walk.
